Why We Want to Adopt
Before we ever met, we both knew that we wanted to adopt. Kevin’s father was adopted and Kevin saw the blessing it was in his life. Kelly believed that God put the desire into her heart from a young age so that she would go and find the children meant for our family. We have seen first hand the beautiful blessing that adoption is! We love our children. We have great joy in parenting. There is nothing that we would rather be doing. We would rather spend time with our kids then anything other entertainment. God has lead us to each one of the children in our family and we are so grateful for them each individually. We are also grateful to their birth families for making the unselfish choice of life for our children and we honor them in our home. Our family is blessed with rich diversity that will make our children great ambassadors of love and acceptance to the world.
We thought that we might be done with our family. But recently, God spoke very strongly to our hearts that we have a baby missing. We were thrilled but truthfully surprised. We look forward to meeting him/her, loving him/her and bringing him/her into our family. We are now searching for that special little angel God has in store for us. We are open to any race, any disability, any gender or any history, because we know that all children are precious. We are simply looking for our missing child and we promise that they will want for nothing and have every meaningful opportunity in the world. This child will also have a family that adores him/her and will be an encouragement throughout life. We also want to be supportive of you and are accepting of an open or closed adoption.
Cool Facts About Our Life
House- We live in a 3800 square foot, 7 bedroom home with a large backyard and a HUGE playground.
Neighborhood- Totally kid friendly! Just about every house has little ones and the only traffic we see are all the tricycles.
Schools- We intentionally picked our house because of the schools. Great test scores, great diversity and award winning teaching staff.
Pets- We have a small sweet dog named Molly. She is a Bichon and adores all kids.
Recreation- We own a 32 foot travel trailer that is HUGE and sleeps 10. We love to go camping as a family! We also love to swim and all of our children learn how from a tiny age. Many of our kids enjoy being on the swim team. Even our daughter who has CP and is in a wheelchair adores swimming! The kids also enjoy being in sports, dance, theater and horse-back riding lessons.
Parks- We live within a short walking distance of an incredible park. It has several play structures and ball parks.
Extended Family- We have a very large, very close extended family on both sides. Our kids also have several cousins that have been adopted! And we have extended family members of every race! Our Family Reunions look more like United Nation Conventions. It is wonderful!
Our Children- We saved the best for last! We have very good kids. Our family has love and peace. Our kids look out for each other and rarely fight. They are polite, friendly, compassionate and caring. People are always commenting that our children are fantastic, they are right! Our children are also excited about us adopting again. They have been begging for a baby for over a year now. It seems they knew before we did that the Lord has another little one meant for our family.
About Kevin
PERSONALITY: Kevin is the most patient, loving and unselfish person his wife has ever met. Kelly has never seen Kevin get angry or yell in the 13 years they have been together. He is always honest, responsible and is an awesome Dad.
WORK: Kevin is a wonderful provider! He brings a great income which more then covers all of our needs and many of our children’s dreams as well. Kevin works from home and has a flexible schedule allowing him to fully participate in our children’s lives. He has been with his company for years, they love him and his job is extremely stable.
HOBBIES: Kevin spends all of his free time with his family. He enjoys playing basketball with the kids in the driveway, hiking with our family during our many camping trips or cheering our kids on at their performances and sporting events. It is not unusual to see Kevin wrestling with our boys or snuggling with our girls reading their latest princess book.
EDUCATION: Kevin graduated from High School with the second highest grades in his graduating class. He was also Student Body President. Kevin graduated from University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Business Accounting and Finance. Kevin’s degree has given him the knowledge needed for a great career and to allow our family to be financially successful and stable.
RELIGION: Kevin is a strong Christian who attends church every week with his family. Kevin is a prayerful man who has a close relationship with God. We attend a congregation that is at least 50% African American.
About Kelly
PERSONALITY: Kelly is an outgoing and caring individual. She was born to be a mother and takes her role very seriously. Kelly’s kids are the priority in her life and she showers them with affection and love. Kelly has the ability to make people feel special and build children’s’ self-esteem. She is especially gifted with in caring for children with special needs.
WORK: Kelly is a full time stay-at-home mom. No daycare! This gives her the time and energy to make sure her children truly have a full-filling life. She is active in her children’s education and extra curricular activities. She also teaches parenting classes to other adoptive parents twice a month.
HOBBIES: Kelly volunteers helping children with special needs. She believes special needs children have unique gifts and enjoys their beautiful spirits. Kelly spends all of her remaining time enjoying her family. Kelly and the kids love swimming, walks to the park, roasting marshmallows, celebrating every holiday to the fullest and being silly together. Kelly also really enjoys braiding her girls’ hair and knows how to do many attractive African American hairstyles.

This experience in the medical field has proven very useful in parenting our children as many of them have needed a surgery, or other medical procedures. Her knowledge gives her an advantage when it comes to interacting with doctors and making tough medical decisions. She is also not squeamish around blood or other bodily fluids, which helps a lot in raising kids!
